Here's why:
Reason #1: Seamless Access Between Home and School
Once your students know how to access the DDSB Campus and Office 365, they can download Microsoft Office for free onto five devices (PC, Android & Mac) so the program they work on at home is compatible with the program they work on at school.
They don't have to remember how to upload, download or even save as O365 does that for them. They can work directly on the document at home and then access it again at school. They can even access Version History, which is fabulous for a homework emergency

Reason #2: Access To Resources & Work All in One Spot!
Once students have access to their online homeroom, they can access support documents we provide under Course Files and the specific files they are working on under Student Files. As you can see below, Student Files are located on the right side, and teacher-added Course Files are on the left.
The Board gives access to homeroom teachers originally, but if you are a rotary teacher looking for access to a class, ask me to share the class file, so you can begin.

Reason #3: Collaboration is the Name of the Game!
At the moment, students may only share files with students in their class, but they can work simultaneously on a document where ever they have access to the internet. Once a student shares a file, either for feedback or to edit, it can be found in the Share With Me file on the far left side!
Reason #4: Reinforces the Learning Loop
Now I can!
Office 365 allows me to pop into their current documents and leave recommendations through the comment feature. Students may then take suggestions or not, but having the chance to provide feedback online will certainly boost student outcome.
